Portobello Road nosing and tasting Event

Details

The session will begin with the perfect serve of the Craft Portobello Road G&T.
Then the Portobello Ambassador will take you down the long & frequently miserable history of the Nation's favourite spirit before moving on to how, when & why Portobello Road Gin was created. I will then conduct a nosing & tasting of all the botanicals in Portobello Road before rounding off with a neat sample.

PORTOBELLO GIN
Five years ago, nestled above a 19th century drinking den on London’s world famous Portobello Road, four longtime friends Ged, Jake, Paul & Tom decided, after amassing a staggering collection of gin and alcoholic artefacts, to open The Ginstitute, which became home to a diminutive 30L copper pot Still, Copernicus the Second. It was here that, after discovering the lay of the distilling land and nine months of experimentation, Portobello Road Gin was born.
Slowly but surely something they could be proud of emerged, created from a blend of nine completely natural botanicals from around the world including juniper berries and orris from Tuscany, Spanish lemon peels, bitter orange peels from Haiti or Morocco, nutmeg from Indonesia and cassia bark from South East Asia.

The gents, all ex-bartenders, were keen to create a spirit that was uniquely versatile & have a depth of character to suit all occasions & libations; an intensity that stands up in a Negroni, enough elegance to work in a Martini yet settle nicely with a tonic. For something born on a whim, Portobello Road Gin has quickly established itself as a favourite amongst connoisseur consumers, bartenders and gin fans everywhere.
