Speaker Bio:
David Martin: At Funding Circle, we heavily use Kafka Streams to build event-driven micro services in Clojure. In this talk, we’ll walk through how to build a Kafka Streams application in a data-driven, Clojure-ish way. We’ll also see the advantages that this approach brings.
Chris Eyre: Exercism.io is a great place to learn a new language. Chris Eyre a mentor on the Elixir track will describe the learning process and if time allows give a demo of Elixir/OTP.
Jarimatti Valkonen: A gentle introduction to Scala Partial Functions with a real-world example. We will go through the basic theory behind them, go through some examples and finally show when the partial functions are useful when extending or composing functionality from smaller, easily testable units.
This event is organized by Functional Works (http://functional.works-hub.com/), the world's best platform to find your perfect role using Functional Programming. Built using Clojure and ClojureScript, the Functional Works platform gives you your own personal job board to save and apply for roles using Clojure, Scala, Haskell, Erlang, Elixir and F# all over the world.
See you there!
