Interventions to Trigger 'Younging' Mechanisms

There’s recently been an explosion in the number of non-traditional, health-span promoting interventions. In addition to the most common forms of intervention, drugs and supplements, new devices of various types appear to enable and provide profound benefit by triggering ancient, evolutionarily conserved mechanisms that exist within us.

We’ve also recently seen an explosion of scientific studies providing details about the large- and small-scale biological processes and interventions that can increase health and longevity.

In their previous London Futurists talk, independent-researchers Vince Giuliano and Steve Buss pointed out that the most prominent theories of aging and rejuvenation do not and cannot explain many of these new and potent biological mechanisms and interventions. Only recently has it become possible, they claim, to configure a good explanation in which natural body rejuvenation processes play a vital role. They believe that this emerging explanation constitutes a paradigm shift for the longevity science movement. Already-proven rejuvenation explanations and interventions can only be properly understood to fit together via understanding recent evidence of ancient, evolutionarily conserved biochemical mechanisms.

During their previous talk (YouTube recording here), they provided an overview of the two fundamental, evolutionarily conserved mechanisms that taken together, they call “Younging”. In this new event, Vince and Steve will follow up on that previous talk to provide

• A brief overview of the Younging explanation of aging and rejuvenation
• Descriptions of key Younging-related interventions that can make a significant difference in health and longevity variables.

The interventions they’ll discuss include

• Drugs and supplements
• Exercise with Oxygen Therapy (EWOT)
• Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) Therapy
• Photo Biomodulation (PBM) Therapy with Red and Near Infrared Light
• Plasma Apheresis of various types.

Vince Giuliano and Steve Buss are independent longevity science researchers with decades of research experience. They began to collaborate two years ago.

At 92 years old, and the head of a 4-generations household, Vince, a Harvard PhD (1959), is probably the world's oldest-living active longevity science researcher/writer. He has published over 500 articles at his website https://www.anti-agingfirewalls.com/.

Steve is a blogger at [Longecity.org](https://www.longecity.org/), the Organizer of The Bend Big Picture Book Club meetup, software engineer, and bio- and cognition-hacker. He has devoted many more than 10,000 hours of reading and writing about longevity science. And Vince has 2 to 3 times more hours in than Steve.

Vince and Steve will be happy to answer questions during the meetup and participate in the post-meetup, in which all attendees can participate.
