We're going to re-open the London GGUG with a session on Groovy best practices, covering such things as
• When and how to use of closures
• Untyped vs explicit types
• Dynamic vs static typing
• The ins and outs of meta programming
• AST transformations
If there's time, there might also be a talk on how Groovy is impacted by Java 8.
We'd love to have some lightning talks as well, perhaps on your own experiences with Groovy. Things you've tried, things that worked and stuff that didn't. How Groovy has worked in Java teams and what type of guidelines have helped.
6:30 - Arrive, brief introductions.
