We have two great talks for this session (one of them remote). The first will be by Gus Power (http://energizedwork.com/crew/guspower) of Energized Work fame:
Less (css) is more. Slicker styling for the web.
CSS. The name illicits groans from the backend developer bench. Googling "css sucks" brings a back a wealth of comedy (and about 6,970,000 results). CSS. Cascading as in a neutron fission reaction. Style as in every project does it differently. Sheet as in...
Less CSS is a javascript library which aims to tackle some of those "if I could just use a variable here...", "maybe if we generated the css from a jsp...", "why is there now more css than actual code?..." difficulties. In this session we'll take some existing stylesheets, tame them using less and integrate them with Grails.
The second will be delivered remotely by Szczepan Faber (http://gradleware.com/team.html):
Anti-zombie course for agile automation
My agile project is a zombie. It is dead, it stinks and yet it walks
and scares my devs. Let's make sure it's not going to happen to you. Hear out what we learned, from minimizing the dev cycles to automated configuration and release management. Hear out how we saved agile methods from rotting by pushing the automation beyond the limits.
Don't let the zombie raise again!
