Gov Design Meetup #15: Emergency response

Details
In times of crisis, communities come together through collective action, governments respond through central responses and organisations work to plug the gaps and work in partnership with both.
Emergency response is a relevant topic for design right now, so we’re gathering voices from different sectors to talk about the many stages of an emergency response: preparedness, immediate response and recovery.
At this meetup, we will discuss what designers can learn from past emergency responses and ongoing crises, and how they can help inform future responses. We’ll reflect on top down centralised approaches to meet ‘global’ needs, as well as bottom up decentralised networks that meet specific community needs. And how the gaps can provide opportunities for complementary approaches, as well as show inefficiencies.
