What we’re about
### Welcome to London Home Education meetup group!
We are creating a community of parents and caregivers passionate about delivering a FUN, high-quality experience and education for our children through home education.
#### What We Offer
We parents and caregivers run events across the Greater London area for home-ed families. Whether you’re:
- A home-ed parent interested in joining,
- Have an existing group and just want to include your event here,
- or simply want to just connect, please reach out to enquire!
Our group welcomes everyone—veteran homeschoolers, those planning to homeschool in the future, or parents interested in reducing screen time for their children. We aim to provide:
- Support and resources,
- Learning opportunities,
- Educational field trips hosted by parents and caregivers.
#### Our Core Principles
We are guided by these values:
- Fun! and interest-driven learning and experiences - the most effective way to learn,
- Minimal or no screen time – our preference for a balanced childhood,
- Peaceful learning – creating space for emotional growth,
- Freedom of play – prioritizing enjoyment and creativity,
- Broad world understanding – exploring diverse perspectives,
- Hands-on experiences – art, music, and practical activities,
- Effective learning skills – teaching children how to learn,
- Contextual awareness – understanding different viewpoints,
- Age-appropriate life skills – money, health, politics, and independence.

### This is a minimum presence requirement, so that we can make sure the group is safe for all. ###
Come along for:
- Playgroups,
- Networking with like-minded families,
- Sharing ideas to create a stimulating and nurturing learning environment.
Let’s learn and grow together as a community!
This event can be free! (details below)
Join us for a hands-on workshop where children eight years and older will learn the essential skill of changing a car tire!
Under the guidance of an experienced adult and the child's parent, kids will get to practice using tools (including an Impact Driver!), lifting a car safely, and replacing a tire step-by-step. This fun and educational event is perfect for young learners interested in cars and practical life skills. All materials and safety gear are provided except for gloves. Space is limited to five children, so register today!
Cost: £5 (or happy to make it free)
Location: Around E14 (TBD)
Please bring:
- Your parent to help and a helper to look after brothers and sisters,
- Gloves (for hand protection, please make sure fingers are not exposed)
- Water to drink.
You will be required to sign a liability waiver for you and your child before you are allowed to participate. Please, in addition, register your details on our basic info form https://form.typeform.com/to/z37tCjtL to be allowed to attend. If the form is not filled in, I am afraid that I will have to move your rsvp to "not attending" to free up the space for another child.
I am very happy to make this event free if you need it, no explanations required!!! Just ask in person at the event for a refund. I am asking for a payment so that attendance has value and so that no spaces are wasted. Any money made from this event is used to attract more children to future events.
Note: A child can be harmed because tools, cars, the floor and tires are heavy and hard. If you do not wish to employ learning with manageable risk, then this event is not for your child. Space is limited, so register today.

*** NB! This is not a meeting, it is a Deadline event by which you need to complete our form. ***
Dear wonderful members of our Home Education group,
Joanna and I are so grateful for the community we’re building together, and we’d love to get to know you a bit better to make our gatherings even more connected and meaningful and safe. To help us do this, we’ve created a quick, 1-minute form where you can share a little about yourself. You can find it here: https://form.typeform.com/to/z37tCjtL.We truly value your presence in our group and want to ensure everyone feels included and engaged. If you have been rsvp'd to this event and haven’t had a chance to fill out the form by the time of this deadline, we’ll sadly assume you might be too busy or perhaps less interested in staying active with us at this time. To keep the group safe, we will need to remove members who haven’t completed the form.
We wholeheartedly hope you’ll stay with us! Taking just a moment to fill out the form, will let us know you’re excited to remain part of our community. We can’t wait to continue this journey together, supporting and inspiring one another.
