Thames Path Walk: Windsor to Maidenhead 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

Join us for a sociable 7-mile [11km] walk starting in Windsor and finishing at Maidenhead, mainly walking along an attractive riverside stretch of the Thames Path.

Meet Thomas (the man wearing the brown hat in the photo) or Mark (who will be wearing an orange T-shirt) inside Paddington mainline train station in front of the ticket office at 10am (we will leave there at about 10:15am). We will be catching the 10:32am Elizabeth line train, arriving at Slough at 11:01am, then taking the 11:10am train from Slough arriving at 11:16 at Windsor & Central. If you wish to meet us at Windsor & Central station instead then please let us know.

Make sure you arrive with enough time to buy your travel ticket. Check the best ticket option when you join the group (or at the station ticket office). A return ticket from London (or West Drayton) to Maidenhead should be permissible if you inform the ticket office that you are walking from Windsor to Maidenhead (this return ticket is cheaper than two single tickets). Freedom Pass holders will only need to buy a single ticket from Slough to Windsor & Eton Central, assuming that they travel back from Maidenhead using the Elizabeth line. 60+ Oystercard passholders or those with zones 1-6 travelcards should get free travel between London and West Drayton (in zone 6), so they may want to buy a return ticket from West Drayton to Maidenhead. Those with Network cards or groups of 3 or 4 who are happy to travel back together should be able to get a third discount.

Unfortunately we cannot wait for latecomers as it is unfair on others to delay the walk [if you are slightly late you might still be able to join us by catching a fast Great Western Trains service at 10:35am and join us at Slough or in Windsor]

There will be a lunch stop at an appropriate eatery (if you prefer you can bring your own food but may need to eat this separately - it is always a good idea to carry a snack and some water).

The walk should involve about 3 hours of walking time. Allowing for a lunchbreak and travel time you should arrive back in London by about 5pm.

There is a £2 meetup charge for this event. Please pay Mark when you join the group.
