Breakfast at Billingsgate Fish Market!

Details

Hello all!

Let's visit Billingsgate Fish Market!

The market dates back to the 14th century when fish began being sold in Billingsgate Wharf near London Bridge. Traders would land in the wharf and sell their wares from the boats.

A building for the market was opened in 1850.

The infamous Kray twins use to work at the market, as did writer George Orwell. Its also appeared in films, mostly recently in Guy Ritchie's "The Gentlemen"!

In 1982, the market relocated to its current site in Canary Wharf.

MEETING POINT:
They only open from 4-8:30 in the morning so let's meet at 6:30am outside the entrance to the market, have a look around and then have breakfast at the Billingsgate Cafe! For £13 you can have a full English breakfast, including 5 scallops! They also do scallop butties!
