Our September Talks 🌈💻🌍

Máté Nagy - Staff Engineer, VEED.IO - Performance profiling and optimization in Javascript

Tips and tricks for identifying and fixing performance issues. Tools used will focus on the frontend, but will apply to backend as well.

Naily Makangu - Fractional Product & Tech Lead, The Mary Poppins of Startups - We’re Late Again: The Delivery Problems AI Can’t Solve

Most software projects ship late, or launch features no one uses. In the age of AI, we’ve been promised faster delivery and instant innovation. But if that’s true, why are teams still tangled in delays, tech debt, and crossed wires? Whose fault is it anyway?
Through the eyes of three avatars - Product, Dev and Business - Naily explores the real blockers behind broken delivery. From vibe-coded prototypes to AI fuelled feature bloat, this talk reveals the cultural debt that can’t be fixed by faster code or shinier tools.

Khadija Al-Selini & Nkechi Anyanwu - Founding Engineers, Vouchsafe - How We Built an Agentic Crew in TypeScript

Multi-agent AI frameworks are everywhere right now - OpenAI Swarm, CrewAI, Langflow - but most are built Python-first. Meanwhile, a huge share of AI startups (60–70% in YC, by some counts) are building in TypeScript. Spinning up a whole Python backend just to tap into these frameworks often feels like overkill.

In this talk, we’ll walk through how we approached building a multi-agent AI system in TypeScript - focusing on the core principles behind these frameworks, and how we recreated something similar that fits naturally into the JavaScript ecosystem.
