200 years of the Thames Tunnel - a walk along the river

Details

Join Tim for a spectacular walk down the south bank of the Thames from London Bridge to Rotherhithe. We’ll see some of the best t views in London from Tower Bridge to where Turner painted the Fighting Temeraire. We’ll see the remains of a manor house where the leaders of the peasants revolt met Richard II in 1381 and where a prince was buried thousands of miles from home
We’ll end in one of London’s most historic and picturesque ‘villages’ - Rotherhithe from where the Pilgrim Fathers set sail for America. It’s also where the Brunels, father and son, built the world’s first underwater tunnel, an extraordinary achievement which is celebrating its 200 anniversary this year. We’ll end in perhaps London’s most beautiful pub, the Mayflower.
So a lovely walk with great views and a wonderful pub - what more do you want?!

We meet at Cafe Piazza in the middle of Hays Galleria at 11 to start walking at 11.15.
Address: 18-19, Hays Galleria, Hay's Ln, London SE1 2HD

We’ll finish near Rotherhithe station 2 miles and 2 hours or so later.

Cost is £12, by card, cash, PayPal or bank transfer. Phone no. 07846899156
