My number is 07815009191.
MEET: 10.45 in The White Swan 255 Upper Street for tea or
outside Highbury and Islington station for the start of the walk at 11.15.
A chance to hear the stories behind two of London's smarter suburbs Canonbury and Barnsbury.
On this walk we'll take in the rarely noticed remains of one of London's finest gothic structures: Highbury and Islington station and one that's still standing, the remarkable Union Chapel. We'll take in the hidden in plain sight remains of the greatest Victorian dairy, George Orwell's model for Victory Mansions, the most miserable block of flats in his classic 1984, social housing of all shapes and sizes, a spooky square, a workhouse and Canonbury Tower, one of London's oldest buildings which started life as a R and R centre.
Please pay £12 to my account sort code 090128, account number 75471878 or cash on the day.
If you see unpaid by your name, just ignore it.
