London’s hidden rivers: a walk down the Walbrook with Tim

Details
London’s hidden rivers
In the second of my walks down the hidden rivers of London, we follow the course of the Walbrook, the only river that flows through the City of London.
It was at the very centre of Roman London. It powered the mills that ground London’s corn, watered the governor’s palace and was the site off the Temple of Mithras.
In medieval London it was part of the city’s port where valuable goods were unloaded and processed. In Tudor times, Shakespeare performed on its banks and Thomas Cromwell lived in some style. We’ll see all these sights and more as we travel its course from source to the Thames.
We meet at the Pret opposite St Leonard’s church at 128 Shoreditch High Street
E1 6JE at 10.45 to start walking at 11.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE USE E1 6JE AS YOUR POST CODE TO FIND THE PRET
We’ll end in a fine pub overlooking the Thames at about 1.30.
