MEET: At 120 Fenchurch Street entrance for the roof garden. Our first stop is the garden on the 15th floor of this building. There's a cafe here so we'll take tea here (should you want) while I talk you through the story of the garden and the route we'll be taking. If you arrive late you should be able to gain entry as an individual or if you prefer you can join us when we get down around 11.25.

From here we head east to visit amongst others St Dunstan's ruined church standing as a reminder of the Blitz and the devastation it brought, a garden where an annual ceremony has its origins in the 1600s, We'll leave the City and head into the East End and see two squares once the most desirable in London and now shadows of themselves, the oldest mortuary in the country, a Hawksmoor church and a reminder of those who said 'no' to fascism. We finish in one of London's most unlikely of woods in the heart of Wapping.
