Tim's walks: Around the City's Wall
Details
Join Tim as he takes you on a circumnavigation of London's City wall.
Built by the Romans in around 200 AD it has helped delineate the City of London's boundaries ever since. We'll see how the Romans built it, how medieval masons repaired it, how it played a role in the Wars of the Roses and how it was rediscovered after the Blitz. There’s an exhibition about the wall which we will visit as well as seeing the remains of monasteries churches and hospitals which once lined the wall.
Above all, it's a great reason to walk round the centre of London; discovering hidden corners and understanding well known views.
We meet inside Citizen M hotel, next to Tower Hill tube station at 1.50, to start walking at 2
