Join Tim for a beautiful walk following the Thames from Hammersmith to Barnes. For many years, around the turn of the 20th century, this lovely stretch of river attracted artists and athletes in equal measure as they came to enjoy the great views and the opportunities for rowing.
As we walk down we'll see, amongst many others, the artists William Hogarth, William Morris, James Mcneill Whistler and Eric Ravilious. There are also composers, dancers and designers. Amongst the athletes are the founders of British Rowing as well as Roger Bannister, the first 4 minute miler.
We meet at Riverside Studios Cafe, 101 Queen Caroline Street, London W6 9BN at 11 to start walking at 11.15
We end in a fine pub in Barnes close to Barnes Bridge Railway Station which will take you to Clapham or Waterloo.

Cost is £12, cash on the day or PayPal: timpotter53@gmail.com or bank transfer 06-09-33, 07162019 or you can pay by card on the day
