MEET: 10.45 for tea at Caffe Nero 53 Notting Hill Gate, London W11 3JS.

This week we are in Notting Hill Gate, once the site of an important turnpike where thousands of sheep and cattle would pass on their way to Smithfield and coaches would speed westwards on their way to Oxford and beyond. Just down the hill I once saw Jason Donovan on a skateboard.
Nearby was the racecourse built to rival Ascot but failed very quickly, the piggeries and the potteries so rough they named it twice, the illegal club attended by Lady Sarah Churchill at the heart of the Notting Hill riots, the 'Tower of Terror' and the homes let by Peter Rachman.
Join me on this walk down the hill through London's most gentrified and changed area.
Please pay £12 to my account number 75471878 sort code 090128 or cash on the day.
If you see unpaid by your name just ignore it.
