On this walk we'll take in the palace designed as the royal's country retreat as King William struggled with his asthma. Once they moved in, the court followed with many fine shops to satisfy their lifestyle.
In more recent times the residents visited the legendary department stores of Barkers and Derry and Toms for goods and for the roof garden with its flamingoes.
Frederick Leighton's house is worth the gate money alone, it's an absolute gem.
Then there's the park itself with its Edwardian Japanese garden, the first dahlias in the country in the 18th century and the accompanying Jacobean mansion.
