THAMES WALK - HAMMERSMITH BRIDGE TO BATTERSEA PARK FOR PARENTS/CHILDREN

Details

This 4.5 mile walk along the river Thames will take up to 3 hours for families with toddlers and other children. We will start at Hammersmith Bridge outside the Riverside Studios, where you can use toilets and get coffee/tea. This is a good way to see in the New Year. On the way, we will visit Fulham Palace Gardens, where the Bishop of London lived. We'll sing sea shanties, tell sea and river stories, and learn about the history of the river (please bring any stories, songs or histories that you want to for sharing). We will proceed eastwards towards Battersea Park crossing over to the south bank of the Thames at Putney Bridge. At our eventual destination in Battersea Park, there are 3 playgrounds to choose from. A donation of £3 per adult will be requested to be given to a Hammersmith educational charity. Please bring a packed lunch, sufficient water and waterproofs. There is a get out point at Putney, which is on the District line after 1 mile. It will be lovely to meet you.
