Details

EVENT : CMC SPACE at PECKHAM LEVELS
DAY & TIME: Friday 25th of May 6-9 PM
PLACE: LEVELS 5/6

There is an opportunity to start the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend with getting to know an inspirational project: CMC Space

CMC Space enables the design and manufacture of products from waste timber by professionals & trainees, who are makers, designers and marketers. Businesses and individuals can purchase high-end sustainable wood products to transform the spaces they live and work in, as well as contributing to skill development and environment.

The pilot for CMC Space produced 2 exhibition/marketing stands to be used at the communal areas in Peckham Levels by the members and the public to exhibit their products/services. The pilot started with a design phase, and continued with the crafting/assembly workshop of the design. For crafting the stands, the project up-cycled art crates which would otherwise be wasted.

Whether you are just beginning to think about how to go sustainable, or a seasoned circular economy expert, everyone is welcome - this is a non-judgemental group of MAKERS just looking to help & support each other in moving toward a brighter future..

The project has taken place at Peckham Levels which once a multi-story car park but now has become a hub for creatives and locals in the area. It provides affordable and inspiring space for independent businesses, artists and local entrepreneurs to work, grow, trade and learn. They regularly host events , have pop-up shows and open-day events.

The event will enable you to see the UPCYCLED Marketing Stalls . There will also be an opportunity to talk with some of the creators/designers of the project as well as Kwebana Amponsa, community manager at Peckham Levels .
Unfortunately, Jake Cingel, the leader of CMC space, will not be able attend.
Selin Yigitbasi, founder of Goodsted, the platform that the CMC Space runs, will talk about her Journey with CMC Space and her platform which enables the Social projects to measure their impact using technology.
