Matt Bates (UK) PracticeMinder: mining open NHS prescription data with MongoDB and friends
The UK NHS provide open access to a number of datasets, including every prescription, presented at the GP practice-level. PracticeMinder was a winning hack at a recent NHS Hackday that exploited this open data and developed web-based visualisations. Developments that will be featured in this talk include time series schema, pre-aggregate number crunching with mongo-hadoop and Elastic Map-Reduce and Aggregation Framework pipelines for real-time analytics for web-based visualisation.
