Details

Hi everyone, I hope you had a great summer this year! I am excited to announce the next LNAM Meetup #14 for 12th October which will be hosted at Excel as part of DTx Europe 2022.
We will start a little early than usual but this will work well if you're also attending DTx (Previously IP EXPO).

For this Meetup we have:

  • Enabling Network Automation for Everyone with Nautobot Jobs - Jason Edelman founder of Network to Code based out of New York. He spends his days helping clients adopt network automation through professional training and consulting services. He's been an active advocate for network automation since 2014.
  • The Network Automation journey typically goes something like learn some Python, then Netmiko, maybe a little Ansible, then NAPALM to Nornir. In the early days, the code built often stays within your personal GitHub repo possibly shared with a few others in your team. But is it really a success if everyone can't use all the great work if you've done? This session talks about the network automation journey and how you can easily enable self-service and API access to any Python script with Nautobot Jobs (all free and open source). You’ll get to see how to update an existing script, so it’s usable by Nautobot (including how to schedule and approve Jobs), but also how to properly version control your Jobs in Git too so everyone can collaborate and contribute across your team.
  • Automation Strategy – General Approach - Ed Moore - Customer Success Specialist - Automation @ Cisco - Ed is responsible for helping customers get the most out of technology and to suggest ways to provide greater value with Automation. Most of his interactions focus on Automation Strategy & Architecture with some Proof of Value demos around Open-Source tooling. Ed has worked for vendors/partners in the past and tend to have a vendor-neutral view of the world, with the focus being how to reduce waste, execute smarter and build better.

Panel discussion:

  • Martin Henson - Business Solutions Architect
  • Jason Edelman
  • Ed Moore

As always, if you'd like to present, or be part of the panel at a future date then please message us via Meetup.
