Agenda

5:00 pm Welcome to the event - Anthony Kesterton
5:10 pm Talking Architecture Shop - Exploring Open Source Success at Scale

  • Eric Schabell, Red Hat Technical Director of Portfolio Architecture

You've heard of large scale open source architectures, but have you ever wanted to take a serious look at these real life enterprise implementations that scale? This session takes attendees on a tour of multiple use cases covering enterprise challenges like integration, optimisation, cloud adoption, hybrid cloud management, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, financial services, and much more. Not only are these architectures interesting, but they are successful real life implementations featuring open source technologies and power many of your own online experiences. The attendee departs this session with a working knowledge of how to map general open source technologies to their solutions. Material covered is available freely online and attendees can use these solutions as starting points for aligning to their own solution architectures.

5:50 pm Break & chat

6:00 pm IT's new normal: Distributed genius - Live stream of Red Hat Forum Keynote from Boston

  • Paul Cormier, President and Chief Executive Officer, Red Hat
  • Stefanie Chiras, Senior Vice President, Partner Ecosystem Success, Red Hat
  • Matt Hicks, Executive Vice President, Products and Technologies, Red Hat

The “new normal” isn’t a given, especially for IT. CIOs and IT leaders get to define it for themselves and, odds are, it’s going to start with open source. But more than that, a new normal established on open source software can help organizations uncover the genius within their ranks, no matter where it is or what shape it may take.

Red Hat President and CEO Paul Cormier will explore the concept of the new normal in enterprise IT and how CIOs can establish an innovative, more flexible future for their organization with open source technologies. Through conversations with Red Hat customers and partners, Paul will highlight how open source code shifted from a hobby to a production necessity, and how this trend will only continue to evolve in the future.

Red Hat Executive Vice President for Products and Technologies Matt Hicks will then discuss how organizations can use this new normal to connect their geniuses and turn raw potential into their own innovation engine. Matt will further explore how this connection is driven by open source through a deeper conversation with Red Hat customers and highlight how new open source platforms and technologies from Red Hat can help organizations build greater connections between distributed geniuses, helping to fuel the next wave of technological breakthroughs.
