What we’re about
Welcome to the Meetup page for the London Photography Group, London's leading online and offline photographic community. We aim to inspire you to express your creativity and share your passion for all things London through your images.
In addition to our online presence, we run events organised via this Meetup page. These range from large 200+ person gatherings, to small 15 person workshops that focus on hands-on techniques. We organise photo walks where we give you fresh perspectives of known and less well-known parts of the city, workshops where top photographers share insights on specific shot types and styles, and events that provide the opportunity for exclusive behind-the-scenes access to some amazing locations. We focus on both the technical aspects of your camera and photography, as well as the creative photo side in amazing locations across London.
Above all, these meetups are a chance to bring the London photographic community together, to meet new friends and old ones, and of course to get out shooting in a fun, creative, and supportive environment.
Whether or not you are on Instagram, whether you are a first-time Meetup person on a frequent flyer, the events we organise here are for you. Our members come from all backgrounds and skill levels, from those with a camera phone who are just starting out, to some of the top commercial photographers in London.
Why not join our group and be the first to hear about our events?

Photowalk at the Winter Lights in Canary Wharf
Canary Wharf, London, GBThe award-winning Winter Lights returns to Canary Wharf in January for its tenth year!
Canary Wharf will be transformed by over 10 spectacular installations, leaving the dark winter evenings aglow. The festival will follow the theme of 'DREAMSCAPE', taking visitors on a journey through surreal, ethereal, and uniquely human experiences.
Jose and Andrew will guide you around the lights, and we will have some models for you to shoot with the light installations.
Ideal equipment
DSLR Camera or you can use a mobile phone if you want.
Tripod (optional for long exposure shots)
Lens - Wide-angle, portrait or zoom lens
Duration - 2 hours; you can stay on longer as the lights get turned off at 10 pm.
We will meet at 6.45 pm and start promptly at 7 pm; we will be walking to various locations around the area that are especially good for photography. Wrap up warm as it gets cold down by the water.
