LOPUG November meetup, Wednesday 15th November, 6.30pm onwards

Details
For our November meetup, we're back at Accurx's offices in Curtain Road!
We have two great sessions lined up, the agenda will be:
- 6:30pm - arrive, drinks, networking
- 7:00pm - Talk 1: "Building platforms and developer experience through practical product thinking (“platform as a product”)"
How can a software engineer get a whirlwind education on the practical tools and tactics of experienced product managers to apply to their own internal platform or developer experience?
With the growing trend of internal tooling teams, often called “platform” or “developer experience”, these teams vary in their size and maturity, from one engineer who cares deeply about developer experience, to funded and strategic platform teams.
A best practice has emerged called “platform as a product”—to applying product and design thinking to platforms. But, how do we practically do that? In this talk Lou will share practical and hands-on tips, advice, tools and techniques for platform teams of any maturity to apply product thinking internally.
Speaker: Lou Bichard, Product Manager @ Gitpod
Lou previously worked building on platform and developer experience at DAZN and now works as a PM for Gitpod, building developer tools for the masses.
- 7.30pm - more drinks, networking & pizzas
- 7:45pm - Talk 2: Panel Discussion: "Platform patterns and blueprints"
Our second talk will be a panel discussion talking about common platform patterns, and how platform teams can facilitate flow of value across a business by enabling software development teams with golden paths and blueprints. The panel will feature Alasdair Hodge, Principal Engineer & CTO at Cloudsoft, Abby Bangser, Principal Engineer at Syntasso and will be moderated by LOPUG host, Paula Kennedy.
