London Platform User Group (LOPUG), Wednesday 17th July, 6.30pm onwards

We're in a new location for our summer meetup, thanks to Atomico for hosting us. For our summer meetup, we have two fantastic speakers lined up. The agenda will be:

• 6:30pm - arrive, drinks, food, networking
• 7:00pm - Talk 1: The Developer's Guide to Platform Happiness

The focus in Platform Engineering has generally been on how Platform teams can better engage and empathise with developers. However, engagement works both ways. This talk will suggest three easy ways that anyone in engineering can use to help ensure a happy and productive Platform team.

Speaker: Leena Mooneeram, Senior Engineer @ Chainalysis
With a strong focus on reducing friction and cognitive load for Chainalysis engineers, Leena is at the coal-face of DevProd and DevEx daily. She is passionate about Developer Productivity and Developer Experience, and is always eager to engage with others in this space. When not working, Leena enjoys playing the flute really well, and the ukulele really badly.

As a principal engineer at ClearBank, Steven has had the privilege of working on the ClearBank platform and witnessing firsthand the transformative impact it can have on sustainability efforts. He has seen the platform and products move from running lean to requiring sustainable growth whilst scaling internationally. In this talk, Steven will delve into the crucial role platforms play in driving sustainability in software products. He will cover:
- sustainable software development
- using platforms to optimise resources
- integrating renewable energy into platform infrastructure
Join Steven in this presentation to gain a deeper understanding of how platforms can be leveraged to drive sustainability in software products.
