Hey Queers of London,
Our discussion this week is ‘Misogyny & it’s effect on women & men’. Video/ article to follow. If anyone has any specific material they think would be helpful for the group to read / Watch please post it on the events page.
Note to attendees: the reason why I’d like us to explore it’s effect on men as well as women is because misogyny and patriarchy damages us all. I have men in my life who value women & consciously support women’s rights. They are damaged to by the vile patriarchy that pervades society at multiple levels.
Our discussions are only what our members contribute; personal accounts & subjective experience is as important as any academic knowledge someone has. This group has a very welcoming, non - judgmental vibe so pls feel free to come along & be yourself. We are intersectional queers who are inclusive of all race, gender, sexuality, queerness, ethnicity, religion, class.
Topics will be chosen for the next week's discussion from the people attending the week before - we'll post the new topic on the group each week with either a youtube video or/and an article for you to watch/ read before coming along.
If you can't attend but want to post an idea for a future topic, just post straight on the group so it can be discussed.
We set discussions for 2 hours but we usually go on for longer & sometimes go for dinner after. Hope to meet more of you in 2023.
