Singles Trip to Greenwich Culture Spots - FREE

I am imagining it is going to be sunny this weekend so here is my plan for a lovely Sunday afternoon.

Firstly we will meet at the rear entrance of The National Maritime Museum by this ship-in-a-bottle at 4pm. (It is very big - look up!) Then we will go for a stroll around the free sections of the Museum (which closes at 5pm). "Navigate the world's oceans. Get up close to the objects that made history – from iconic maritime exhibits to great British art" to quote their website www.rmg.co.uk/national-maritime-museum.

Then we meet up again just after 5pm again at the ship-in-a-bottle. Bring something to nibble or drink (can be a simple packet of crisps...) and an item to sit on and we will walk into the very fabulous Greenwich Park.

If you have never been to Greenwich Park before, you will be amazed at this beautiful location. "Overlooking the River Thames and home to one of London’s most iconic views, Greenwich Park is an amazing mix of 17th century landscape, stunning gardens and a rich history that dates back to Roman times. The park’s 183 acres has something for everyone. Stand on the Prime Meridian, the reference point for the rest of the world, and visit The Royal Observatory. Follow in the footsteps of England’s kings and queens with a walk through Greenwich’s ancient trees. Visit the tranquil flower, herb and orchard gardens. Did you know? Greenwich Park is part of the UNESCO Greenwich Maritime World Heritage Site, one of only four accredited sites in London. " It also has a boating lake! www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/greenwich-park

Greenwich Park is a very good place for a chat and a hang out under a tree or in the sun. The park closes at 9.30pm so we have time to find a nice spot and chill out after the Museum visit.

Think Greenwich is miles from town?! Forget the tubes. Get the boat down from Waterloo or other locations. www.thamesclippers.com/sightseeing-leisure/visit-greenwich. www.citycruises.com/london-sightseeing/pier-locations/greenwich-pier. Or the overground or DLR and or the bus. There are also lots of cycle routes. (Parking in Greenwich is very expensive so ditch the car...)

This is an event for singles who fancy meeting others, who are happy to put their phone away and have a chat.

Hope to see you there.
