London Open Gardens Festival has become a popular annual event in the capital.
Hidden and private gardens are opened up to the public for one weekend only! 🌳
Discover rooftop gems, community spaces and historic walled enclosures.
With over 110 gardens participating in this year’s event; from the historic and traditional to the new and experimental there’s certainly something for everyone to enjoy.
As part of the programme some gardens will have music, entertainment and refreshments too.
On Saturday we’ll be taking a group walk and social around some of the participating gardens in Bloomsbury, central London, with its unique Georgian character.
There is no charge for the MeetUp.
You will need to buy a London Open Gardens ticket from their website to enter each venue:
https://londonparksandgardens.eventcube.io/
The ticket also gives you access to all of the other gardens involved and can be used throughout Sunday too :)
Some of the gardens we are going to try and visit on Saturday include:
Lincoln's Inn Gardens
The Phoenix Garden
Bedford Square
Montague Street Gardens
The British Medical Association Council Garden
Park Square & Park Crescent Gardens
Royal College of Physicians' Garden of Medicinal Plants
(You can read more details about each on the website)
We meet at Holborn underground station at 12:15PM with some time for introductions before beginning our stroll 👣
Finishing point should be either Tavistock Square or Great Portland Street with possibility for drinks after at a local pub.
The walk will be around 3.5km-5km, with an option to hop on a bus for the final section (dependent on how we’re doing for time & how tired our legs are!)
Obviously you are free to join for all or part of the adventure. Bring friends if you wish, but don’t worry if you’re coming solo, plenty of others will be too and I’ll be on hand to ensure everyone feels welcome.
Looking forward to it! 🏡
