Hi Everyone!
After the success, all the incredible feedback and learnings from the first meetup, we are really excited to bring information on the next event.
The London SRE meetups are relaxed and welcoming to all, food and drinks will be made available for attendees on the night, beers and pizzas!
We have two speakers for this Kubernetes themed meetup;
Speaker - David Dyball - Lead SRE, ClearScore
Title - Our Kubernetes migration
Speaker - Florian Rathgeber - Site Reliability Engineer, Google Cloud
Title: How to SRE - An introduction
So what will be covered?
Speaker - David Dyball - Lead SRE (ClearScore)
Title: Our Kubernetes Migration
Abstract:
Where we were last year (one giant InfluxDB cluster ingesting metrics
from StatsD), what we tried (self-hosted Prometheus), what we learned from a DIY solution. Reasons for outsourcing our metrics infrastructure, additional learning points from migrating, why I've bought into Observability" over "Monitoring" and our plan moving forward.

Title: How to SRE - An introduction
Abstract:
This talk is a practical introduction for getting started with SRE in
your organization. From the origins of SRE at Google in 2003, this
talk covers the key principles: Service Level Objectives, error
budgets shared responsibility and blamelessness.
Bio:
Florian defected from academia after a Ph.D. in computational science at
Imperial College to build data pipelines for meteorological data at
the European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) for 3 years before joining Google as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) on
Google Cloud.
Florian co-founded PyData London and used to be a GDG co-organiser. At evenings and weekends, he cycles to many more meetups and hackathons than is healthy and tries to excite kids, women and underrepresented minorities about technology.
