What we’re about
The hosts of Yolande's Online Work/Study Group are taking a sabatical. We need a bit of a break. WE WILL BE BACK! Apologies to pending members and to those looking to join. HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON!
Do you want to get into an early morning routine, and work or study online with others who want to do the same? Then join our friendly group. We work from 7am to 9am GMT every weekday.
Generally the format is that we meet at 7am and chat for ten minutes. The choice is yours to let others know what it is you will be working on. Then we get down to silent work, generally keeping our cameras on to help with productivity. At 8.50 we stop and chat until the close of the meeting at nine. Very often people leave the meeting early due to work commitments, which is absolutely fine.
WE ASK THAT MEMBERS READ AND AGREE TO OUR GROUP RULES BEFORE JOINING.
GROUP RULES:
BE KIND AND COURTEOUS
We aim to make this a welcoming and friendly group, so we ask members to treat everyone with kindness and respect. We have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy towards anyone disrespecting or degrading others because of their race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity etc., or anyone behaving in other ways deemed inappropriate.
PRIVACY
While this is a Public Group, respecting privacy is still vital. Please keep this in mind when you’re talking with others in the group, posting things or screensharing.
FIRST TIME PARTICIPANTS
We request that new participants follow certain protocols to help protect the group against Zoom bombers. First of all, they need to sign up to the event on Meetup before the meeting takes place. If their name on Zoom is different from the one on Meetup, we ask that they let us know in the Meetup discussion chat. We prefer not to allow unfamiliar Zoom identities to access the meeting. Like many groups we reserve the right to refuse new members with ai or blank profile images. We also request that new members briefly introduce themselves on camera to our friendly group, so ask that they turn up to their first meeting on time. We’ve had some nasty zoom bomber incidents and are super protective of our group so we hope people understand.
RSVP FOR EVERY MEETING
We ask that all participants RSVP on Meetup for every meeting, even if they know the zoom link in advance. This ensures prospective members know we are a group and encourages them to join.
