Transforming from Sex to Eros: Life Inside a Tantric Spiritual Community
An intimate evening exploring spirituality, yoga, community, sexuality — and what it actually looks like to bring tantric practice into modern life.
This event marks the launch of MISA: Inside Out – 15 Years With the Black Sheep of Yoga, a first-hand account of life inside one of Europe’s largest and most controversial spiritual movements.
After 15 years immersed in this world, Kieran Dowling shares insights drawn directly from lived experience. These practices often make headlines, but are rarely explored with any real depth or nuance. This evening offers a more grounded, less sensational look inside.
In conversation with former BBC reporter Stuart Maister, we’ll explore:
- what daily life inside a spiritual community really looks like
- tantric practices and the process of initiation
- the balance between guidance and personal autonomy
- why people are drawn to these paths — and why they stay
The second half opens up into an honest, open Q&A — a space to ask about topics that are usually kept at the edges.
A note: we’ll aim to touch on all of the above, but the conversation will be organic rather than scripted — so we’ll follow what feels most alive in the room.
Light refreshments will be served, and copies of the book will be available on the night.
Places are limited to keep the evening intimate — RSVP required.
Filming or recording is not permitted.
