OUR MISSION:

Learning and applying drawing and painting fundamentals in a contemporary context, figurative or abstract.

In "Drawing values", we teach the fundamentals of drawing and Painting, whether your future approach is figurative or abstract. We will encourage personal expression; however, we will emphasise the actual learning process, which we refer to as 'the learning scaffolding '. This term refers to the step-by-step approach we take to build your skills and understanding, much like the scaffolding used in construction to support a building. Classes will occur in a studio, providing a supportive and comfortable learning environment where you can freely express your creativity. We use modern technology to correct or evaluate specific parts of your work. The above ensures you receive the highest-quality feedback and guidance without altering your creation, thus enhancing your learning experience and providing the support you need to succeed. Our classes offer a hands-on experience with still life and life model compositions, which will build your confidence and prepare you for your artistic endeavours. You will work with various media, including charcoal, acrylics, ink, and pastels, to develop a versatile skill set, ensuring you feel confident and prepared for your artistic journey.

CLASSES: TIMETABLE - DESCRIPTION

  1. Classes will run yearly from September until the 31st of July, with two weeks of Christmas and one week of Easter Holidays.
  2. Duration: 3 hours
  3. Timetable: Tuesdays and Wednesdays at
  • 10 am-1 pm,
  • 2 pm-5 pm,
  • and 6 pm-9 pm
  1. Each class session is structured to provide a comprehensive learning experience. It begins with your teacher's 30-minute demonstration of the theoretical background, followed by a 15-minute Q&A session. The remaining time is dedicated to your practice, with your tutor providing continuous feedback, corrections and regular revisions of the theoretical material. This personalised feedback is designed to help you grow as an artist and feel valued in your learning journey.
  2. Our courses maintain a maximum class size of eight to ten students. This deliberate choice ensures that each student receives the attention needed for an optimal learning experience.
  3. While you practice, your tutor will constantly provide feedback and corrections for the rest of the class and revise the theoretical material.
  4. Students are responsible for their materials and place their drawings in their art cases. We can store your art case and materials for those who wish to follow our classes monthly. Those attending drop-ins should take their drawings with them at the end of the class.
  5. We recommend a minimum commitment of 3 months(12-13 weeks) for all beginners. During this period, you will cover the foundational aspects of drawing and Painting, and in the last week, a full review and assessment of your work will take place, thus reinforcing you to cultivate your critical view.
