Guest speaker Kevin Richardson: 13 Lessons Over 33 Years

Details
I began working in the field of User Experience a long time ago. Between then and now, many interesting things have happened. For example, User Experience has moved from engineering to psychology to “design,” and has gone from “unnecessary” to required. Desktop software, web sites, mobile applications, games, web-based business software, voice interfaces – User Experience is everywhere, and customers believe we, as UX professionals, know what we’re doing.
Things have certainly improved for us as a profession, but I still see repeating patterns of questions and mistakes being made. I will discuss a number of these, including portfolios, design process, standards, and complex business software design, as well as other lessons that will improve individual careers and the quality of our profession. I will also provide downloadable training materials for the group.
