Hi everyone
VEGAN DISCUSSION: The Changing Landscape of Veganism — Challenges and Choices
Join us for a thought-provoking evening of discussion and sharing as we explore some of the key issues facing veganism today. From the decline in vegan businesses to ethical dilemmas and the impact of social media, this is an opportunity to connect, reflect, and brainstorm positive action together.
1. Where Have All the Vegans Gone?
Why Some Vegan Businesses Are Struggling and What We Can Do About It
Across the UK, vegan cafés and restaurants have been closing, and supermarkets are reducing their plant-based ranges. What’s causing this downturn — economic pressures, consumer fatigue, or shifting priorities? And most importantly, how can we as a community support and sustain vegan businesses for the future?
2. The Ethical Dilemma:
It’s not always black and white. Many vegan products are now owned by large corporations whose wider practices may conflict with vegan ethics. Should we still buy from them if it helps spread vegan options — or does that compromise our principles? Let’s discuss where we draw the line and how to navigate these grey areas.
3. Veganism Online: Friend or Foe?
Social media has both boosted and bruised the image of veganism. While it’s helped spread awareness, it’s also fuelled backlash and misinformation. How can we counter negative portrayals and use these platforms more effectively to inspire, educate, and promote compassion?

Please connect at 6.55pm for a prompt start at 7pm.

As this is a discussion meeting, in order to participate you need to ensure you have your video camera on so that we can see you, and your microphone working so that we can hear you.

Best regards.
