Sessions
There is no growth in the comfort zone, there is no comfort in the learning zone! - Duncan Epping, Chief Technologist HCI, VMware.
Many of us have been doing the same job for years, many of us have found ourselves in a situation where work has become a routine. How do you force yourself to stay up to date with new technology? In this session Duncan is going to discuss why he took 3 months out of his role to explore a completely different side of the world of IT, namely remote rendering of virtual reality applications. More importantly, what has he learned along the way, and why he feels that everyone should aim to step outside of their comfort zone when an opportunity to do so presents itself.
vSphere Next Gen - Adam Eckerle, Group Manager, vSphere Technical Marketing, VMware.
VMware vSphere is bringing new innovations and capabilities to run and manage modern applications with native Kubernetes, simplify lifecycle management, strengthen intrinsic security and drive enhanced performance and resiliency for all business-critical workloads. vSphere delivers the essential services for the modern hybrid cloud. Join this session to learn how you can simplify your hybrid cloud and amplify your career with vSphere 7.
Personal Development - Katherine Skilling, PSO Consultant, CTO Ambassador, VMware - Community Session
As technical people we spend a lot of time working on our technical skills and knowledge. Whether it is playing with the latest cool tech in our lab or studying for certifications. How much time do we invest in our personal skills though, and do we really understand how important they are for our career and personal development?
In this session Katherine will share her story of personal discovery and development from the last 12 months as she attempted to understand who she was and what contribution she could make to VMware. Highlighting how making small changes lead to significant results over time.
Capacity Planning - Dean Lewis, Technical Account Manager, VMware.
Mental Health Awareness - Dave Marley and friends - Community Session.
About 25% of the people attending this session will experience a mental health problem in the next 12 months [NHS]. In this session, members of the vCommunity will talk about their experiences and the ways in which they’ve worked to manage their mental health and support those around them. We’ll be sharing personal mental health stories, shining a light on the issues, providing our insights and practical advice. This is an extremely powerful session on what remains an incredibly serious issue.
