Papers, palaces and priories: a guided walk of Fleet Street and the Strand

Details
This fascinating walk, led by qualified London guide Mike, encapsulates eight centuries of London's history, from its medieval monastic past to today's "street of ink".
Midway between the City - the financial centre of London - and Westminster - home of royalty and parliament - this area has been a busy highway connecting the twin Cities of London and Westminster for many centuries.
As well as places of entertainment such as theatres, inns and taverns, there are a number of historic churches and real architectural gems.
Join us on this walk to explore the legacy of the newspaper industry and other places of historic interest – churches, palaces, and priories.
Start at Blackfriars Station (NORTH exit) at 11am
All proceeds from this walk will be donated to The Connection at St. Martin's, a charity helping the homeless people in London recover and find housing and work. Suggested donation £10.
