June Meeting 1 - Beautiful Ruins (Jess Walter)
Details
For the first meeting in June, we will read Jess Walter's Beautiful Ruins. His sixth effort was a New York Times #1 Bestseller and is "[g]loriously inventive, funny, tender and constantly surprising.' It is set in Italy in the 1960s and a modern Hollywood studio.
'Intensely romantic and redolent of old-school Hollywood glamour, Walter's hugely popular bestseller is both deft Tinseltown satire and wonderfully immersive character study.'

The meeting will take place at Zizzi St Katharine's Docks (it can be tricky to find in the centre of the docks!). We will have a table outside, so join us for some al fresco Italian food as we dive into this fascinating novel.
N.B. We will be charging an event fee of £3, non-refundable, to discourage no-shows and contribute to the running costs of the group. Please only sign up if you intend to come along as space is limited to make for an effective discussion!
