For the second October meeting, we will head in the slightly spooky seasonal direction for Julia Armfield's Our Wives Under the Sea. This debut effort from 2022 is 'a story of falling in love, loss, grief, and what life there is in the deep, deep sea.' (Book jacket)

'Imbued with the same beautifully evoked strangeness and yearning as her short story collection Salt Slow, Armfield's debut novel finds the relationship between two women transformed by a deep dive onto a mysterious underwater vessel.'

We will have the meeting at The Oyster Shed, where they have both a weekend lunch and brunch menu. So come along for some delicious (sea)food and haunting discussion!

N.B. We will be charging an event fee of £3, non-refundable, to discourage no-shows and contribute to the running costs of the group. Please only sign up if you intend to come along as space is limited to make for an effective discussion!
