★ The Sessions
✍️ - Live Accessibility Review
In this session, Graham will review the Big Orange Heart website (https://www.bigorangeheart.org/) from an accessibility perspective live. He will demonstrate how we can audit clients sites to ensure they meet the needs of our visitors. Get an insight into the tools used and learn how we can ensure every site we deliver is accessible.
🗣 - Presented by Graham Armfield. Graham is a Web Accessibility Consultant with his own company Coolfields Consulting. He works with organisations to help them improve the accessibility of their websites - testing the websites for accessibility and advising the designers and developers on how to fix issues found. He has written detailed training courses on accessibility for developers which he presents on a regular basis. Follow Graham https://twitter.com/coolfields
✍️ - Full Site Editing - A Round Table
With the release of WordPress 5.8 comes the first steps into Full Site Editing (FSE) for WordPress. The roadmap will see some significant changes brought about - join us as we open the floor to discuss the topic.
🗣 - Presented by Anne McCarthy, Nathan Wrigley, and Paul Lacey
Anne McCarthy (she/they) is a developer relations wrangler for Automattic, focused on paving paths to accelerate the adoption of Gutenberg and building great relationships with developers. She spearheads the FSE Outreach Program, an open-to-all space for those looking to give feedback on and learn more about full site editing. In their free time, they love to take photos, hike, blog at nomad.blog, play soccer, and ask too many questions of loved ones.
Nathan Wrigley is a podcaster working in the WordPress space. His podcast, WP Builds, is just about to start its 6th year! He also podcasts over at WP Tavern as the host of Jukebox. He's keen to see where WordPress will be going in the near future and how Full Site Editing will enable more people to create their own home on the web.
Paul Lacey delivers WordPress solutions for niche design and marketing agencies, works as a Freelance designer for Beaver Builder and helps companies speed up their websites. Paul is also a regular voice in the world of WordPress podcasts, previously co-host of This Week in WordPress alongside Nathan, and co-host of upcoming new show Digital Master Dojo. Paul likes to spend time with his family, care for his animals and play console gaming.
