Designing WordPress Admin Icons

The WordPress admin has really evolved into something lovely over the last few years. So when you create plugins and custom post types, you want custom icons that feel at home in the interface. Laura is going to discuss her top tips for creating icons, and attempt to live-design a WordPress admin icon to show you step-by-step how she does it.
Bio: Laura Kalbag is a designer easily excited by web design and development. Among her list of ever-changing pet subjects are responsive web, semantic web, web fonts and WordPress, but she's really fascinated by anything in the areas of web, mobile and design.
Accelerating WordPress sites with CloudFlare

This talk will introduce CloudFlare's free services and talk specifically about how they accelerate WordPress sites.
Bio: John Graham-Cumming is a computer programmer and author. He studied mathematics and computation at Oxford and stayed for a doctorate in computer security. As a programmer he has worked in Silicon Valley and New York, the UK, Germany and France and currently works at CloudFlare (http://cloudflare.com/). His open source POPFile (http://getpopfile.org/) program won a Jolt Productivity Award (http://www.drdobbs.com/architect/184415340?pgno=3) in 2004.
He is the author of a travel book for scientists published in 2009 called The Geek Atlas (http://geekatlas.com/) and has written articles for The Times, The Guardian, The Sunday Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, New Scientist and other publications.

If you've heard of him at all, it's likely because in 2009 he successfully petitioned (http://blog.jgc.org/2010/03/petitions.number10.gov.uk/turing/) the British Government to apologize for the mistreatment of British mathematician Alan Turing.
