The Otford circular - a fast-paced hilly hike - approx 2096 ft ascent/ descent

The Otford circular is a fast-paced hilly 16-mile hike. If you think you will struggle with this, please change your RSVP to no. There are plenty of other good hiking groups, such as London explorers and Chiltern explorers, who do slower paced hikes.

Otford is a lovely Kent village (only 40 mins away from London Victoria!). There is a nice duck pond in the centre of the village. Otford lies on the river Darent, and it also includes the remains of an Archbishops palace.

The hike incorporates parts of the North Downs way and has some spectacular views of the Kent countryside. We hike through the Lullington country park, which has scenic grasslands and ancient woodlands.

There is a train leaving London Victoria getting to Otford for 0935. The hike will start at Otford Station at 0945. There is only one entrance/ exit.

At the end of the hike, there will be optional drinks at the Woodman pub, which has a wide range of refreshing beverages and a large beer garden. There will be a voluntary 8 pound charge on the day payable with cash or via PayPal at London1000fthiking@yahoo.com

What to bring: Suitable hiking boots and hiking gear, waterproof clothes are advisable, lunch, water, and good vibes.
