🏸 Welcome to Westside Badminton Club — WSBC

PLAY • COMPETE • CONNECT
Westside Badminton Club (WSBC) is a friendly, competitive and social badminton club based in Isleworth, West London, for intermediate to advanced players who enjoy good-quality badminton in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
We play every Wednesday from 6:30pm–8:30pm at Nishkam School, Isleworth.
The idea behind WSBC is simple: good badminton, good people and a great club atmosphere.
We want this to be more than somewhere you simply turn up, play and head home. Alongside competitive badminton, we want to build a genuine community where members get to know one another, improve their game and enjoy the social side of being part of a club.

🏆 PLAYING STANDARD
Our regular sessions are aimed at intermediate to advanced players and are unfortunately not suitable for complete beginners.
As a general guide, players attending should be comfortable with:
• Serving consistently
• Clearing effectively from the back of the court
• Smashing and defending
• Maintaining strategic rallies
• Understanding basic doubles positioning and court movement
• Playing competitive games with players of a similar standard
Games will predominantly be doubles, with player rotation throughout the evening to give everyone the opportunity to play with and against different members.
The aim is to maintain a good standard of badminton while keeping the club friendly, inclusive and enjoyable.

🪶 QUALITY BADMINTON
We play using high-quality feather shuttlecocks.
Please bring your own racket and wear appropriate sportswear with non-marking indoor court shoes.
🎯 Coaching
Coaching is also available for players who would like to improve their technique, movement, tactics or general standard of play.
Coaching is available at an additional charge.
Please DM me if you’re interested.

🍻 BADMINTON + SOCIAL
The social side of WSBC is an important part of what we want to build.
Every alternate Wednesday, we plan to head to a local pub for drinks and food straight after badminton.
Joining us afterwards is completely optional — it’s simply an opportunity to relax, have a chat and get to know the people you play with off the court as well.
Hopefully, over time, WSBC becomes not just a place to play badminton but a genuine West London badminton community.

Places at each session are limited, so please only RSVP if you genuinely intend to attend.

Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may affect your ability to book future sessions. This is simply to keep things fair for everyone, particularly when sessions are full and other players are waiting for spaces.

đź‘‹ ABOUT THE ORGANISER
WSBC is organised by Adi, who has been playing badminton for over two decades, has previously managed badminton clubs and has played competitively at league level.
Badminton has always been a genuine passion, and the aim with WSBC is to create the sort of club I personally enjoy being part of — competitive enough to have really good games, but friendly enough that people actually look forward to coming back each week.
Whether you’re looking for competitive badminton, an opportunity to improve your game, new people to play with or simply a regular club in West London, we’d love to have you join us.

⚠️ HEALTH, SAFETY & LIABILITY
Badminton is a physically demanding activity and participation in any WSBC session is undertaken at the participant’s own risk.
All members are responsible for ensuring that they are fit and medically able to participate in physical exercise.
If you have an existing injury, medical condition, illness or other health concern that may be affected by exercise, you should seek appropriate medical advice before participating.
Players are responsible for:
• Warming up and cooling down appropriately
• Playing within their own physical capabilities
• Wearing appropriate clothing and footwear
• Stopping immediately if they experience pain, dizziness, unusual shortness of breath, chest discomfort or otherwise feel unwell
• Informing the organiser if they become injured or unwell during a session
• Taking responsibility for their own personal belongings
Westside Badminton Club and its organiser(s) accept no responsibility for injury, illness, medical problems, loss or damage arising from participation in club activities, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
Participation in any activity outside the scheduled badminton session — including pub visits, meals, drinks or other social gatherings — is entirely optional and undertaken at each individual’s own responsibility and risk.
Members remain responsible for their own health, safety, behaviour and personal belongings during any associated social activity.
By booking and/or attending a WSBC session, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood and accepted these conditions.
