Perhaps you can write grammatically correct sentences, but when it comes to conversation you have difficulty communicating due to poor pronunciation and intonation?
Whether you are a business person involved in high-stakes negotiations or a student giving presentations, communicating clearly and effectively is essential.
This workshop aims to give you the tools and knowledge to help you improve your English pronunciation and listening skills. You'll be introduced to the phonemes of English, the International Phonetic Alphabet, and the vowel sound chart. We will compare and practice the pronunciation of vowels, consonants, and basic sentence structures.
The way we use our articulators (mouth, tongue, lips, and facial muscles), and the manner in which we aspirate sounds tends to vary from one language to another. Developing this awareness is a fundamental step to adopting native-like English pronunciation. We'll also take a look at learning techniques and thinking patterns to achieve you achieve this.
This workshop is aimed at non-native English speakers and ESL (English Second Language) students of all levels. However, anyone is welcome to attend including native English speakers who wish to learn Received Pronunciation. This pronunciation class focuses on RP, which stands for "Received Pronunciation".
After the workshop, participants will be welcome to join us for a drink at a nearby coffee shop.
