September Gophers... online again!

Summer is surprisingly over, but the good news is we're back: join us for another online event, no matter where you are, as long as you have access to YouTube, you can be part of our London community! ๐ŸŽ‰ ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

We will be hosting a virtual meetup via our YouTube on our usual channel: http://youtube.com/londongophers.

Presenters will be using a Zoom Pro account to present many thanks to GoBridge for sponsoring this for all meetups to use during those difficult times. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Here are some details about our talks for the night:

๐Ÿ—ฃ Grayson Hardaway
Grayson is a security researcher at r2c, a startup working on static analysis tools purpose-built for the modern workflow. At r2c, Grayson authors static analysis tailored for finding security vulnerabilities in open source code. Previously, Grayson worked for the US Department of Defence fuzzing and exploiting obscure protocols. When not submitting patches, Grayson is hefting a heavy pack uphill, crafting guitar solos, or learning something new: currently woodworking.

Talk: "Beyond Gosec: Detect complex code patterns using semantic grep"

Summary: "Weโ€™ll discuss a static analysis tool weโ€™re developing called Semgrep and compare it to tools like gosec. Semgrep is a tool for writing security and correctness queries on source code (for Go, Python, Java, C, and JS) with a simple grep-like interface. The original author, Yoann Padioleau, worked on Semgrepโ€™s predecessor, Coccinelle, for Linux kernel refactoring, and later developed Semgrep while at Facebook. Heโ€™s now full time at r2c."

๐Ÿ—ฃโšก๏ธ TBD - still available!

๐Ÿ—ฃ Deep Datta (Twitter @DeepDattaX)

Talk: "Security of Go Modules and Vulnerability Scanning in GoCenter"

Summary: "Learn more about the foresight that went into Go Module security and how checksums, the checksum database, go.sum files and the merkle tree protect you!"

We'll have our usual breaks, raffles and the conundrum too! We'll upload all the talks afterwards to our YouTube channel
https://youtube.com/londongophers as usual.
