Welcome to our first short talks session. Join us for 2 x short talks followed by a Q&A.

Beginning with CockroachDB + R2DBC: Scalability for when Eventual Consistency is just not an option.

This talk will introduce CockroachDB (a distributed, scalable, ACID Compliant NewSQL Database) and R2DBC (a Reactive API for Relational Database Connectivity).

CockroachDB uses PostgreSQL wire protocol and our speaker, Anthony Accioly will present a sample application that uses the latest r2dbc-postgresql driver to connect to a local CockroachDB cluster.

AI: Built By The People, For The People

Mag Leahy will look at how we diversify our teams so we can build better products for the world we live in today.

About the speakers

Anthony Accioly is a Software Developer and world traveller currently working in finances. He's spent the last 11 years working with Java, Scala, Python and Node.js in multiple industries (including but not limited to Telco, E-commerce, Education, and Digital Payments) across the world.
