About the event

NGINX Unit is a new open source project from the NGINX team. It aims to simplify the application stack at the runtime by delivering three core capabilities in a single component. Unit can serve static assets, natively run Java applications, and proxy to backends. Attend this talk to learn how conventional Java application servers can be replaced with a smaller stack and a configuration that describes the entire application, from network port to application runtime.

Speaker Bio

Liam Crilly, Senior Director of Product Management at F5, wrote his first web app in 1993, and has enjoyed working with Internet software ever since. Liam leads the NGINX Unit incubation group, an open source app server, web server and reverse proxy.
