About this event
The LJC is delighted to announce our 19th Unconference!
Join us for a full day of discussions, knowledge sharing, learning, and networking with other developers in the industry.
There will be an opening keynote session followed by breakout discussion groups on the topics which are important to you. Catering is of course included, with a steady stream of coffee as well as breakfast on arrival, lunch and even afternoon tea.
What is an Unconference?
An unconference is a loosely structured, participant-driven meeting. You decide what you want to talk and hear about and which topics you want to discuss. It starts with an empty schedule - no topics are mandated and no separations are made between speakers and the audience. All participants work out a schedule by suggesting, planning, holding, and evaluating sessions, collaboratively. Above all else, it's great fun, whether you want to learn or share it's a supportive and safe space to do it in.
Keynote Speaker:
Name: Holly Cummins
Title: LangChain4j, Java, and You
Abstract:
If you’re not experimenting with AI, were you even developing in 2025? LangChain4j is emerging as a de facto standard for LLM integration in Java. In this demo-driven talk, Holly will explore a range of cool LangChain4j capabilities, such as type safe object mapping, stateful context, agents, RAG, guard rails, and fault tolerance.
Holly Cummins Bio:
Holly Cummins is a Senior Principal Software Engineer on the IBM Quarkus team and a Java Champion. Over her career, Holly has been a full-stack javascript developer, a build architect, a client-facing consultant, a JVM performance engineer, and an innovation leader. Holly has led projects to understand climate risks, count fish, help a blind athlete run ultra-marathons in the desert solo, and invent stories (although not at all the same time). She gets worked up about sustainability, technical empathy, extreme programming, the importance of proper testing, and automating all the things. You can find her at http://hollycummins.com, or follow her on socials at @holly_cummins.
We will also be joined by Borislav Ivanov from Redis during our lunch session to give his talk titled: "Make Your Cache Speak: Building redis-mcp-java for context-aware AI development".
We look forward to seeing you there!
