About us
Welcoming life drawing classes in East London since 2004, taught by professional artist Adrian Dutton (Royal Drawing School graduate).
We run relaxed but focused sessions at multiple venues (Bethnal Green / Garrett Centre, The Baths, Topolski, etc.) plus online options.
All levels very welcome — from complete beginners to serious artists and animators. Materials, tea & snacks provided.
Whether you're looking for a fun creative evening or deeper practice with long poses, there's a session for you. Newcomers always welcome!

Materials: Don't worry if you have come out without any materials - at no extra cost all the materials you need are available at the class or bring your own!
Cost per class is £13 per evening or you can buy a block of 5 sessions for £52.50 - (these don't have to be taken consecutively, you can take them ANYTIME and they are valid at ANY of our classes!)
Times: Our classes all start at 7pm but don't worry if you're late, just come along! We have a 15-20mins break halfway through, then we continue until 9pm.

Life Drawing - N1 - The Animator Class (Skill Level: Beginner - Advanced)

What: A fun, fast-paced variety pose class suitable for all levels, from 1-minute to 25-minute poses. All materials provided. Drinks and food available from the restaurant, with wine at cost price on Mondays.

Life Drawing - SE1, Topolski Studio Class (Skill level beginner to advanced)
Topolski Studio, Belvedere Road, London, GBJoin us at this historic studio under the arches of Hungerford Bridge on the South Bank of the Thames, where the renowned painter and reportage artist Felix Topolski RA worked from 1951 until 1989 for an evening hosted by his grandson Lucian Topolski. Mark Lovelace will lead the drawing, Mark is an artist, with a special interest in drawing, who has been running classes at the Barbican Art Society, and at London Life Drawing, for many years.
The studio has easels and all the equipment you might want, including a variety of drawing materials. Sketchbooks with reproductions of work by Felix Topolski are also available to purchase.
Lucien will be around after the class to socialise, and you are welcome to bring your own drinks. There is also the Topolski Bar nearby.
Mark will explain some approaches to drawing which reflect the artistic concerns of Felix Topolski. Individual feedback is available if desired. Mark can either help you to develop your drawing in similar directions, or he can support you as you pursue your own path. We will have a mixture of pose lengths.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are available during the break. We aim to foster a warm atmosphere for a wide variety of skill levels, and to support a vibrant, and welcoming community of artists.

About the venue. The venue opens at 6.30pm. It is wheelchair accessible via a ramp to the space. It has been an education and teaching space for many years, as well as housing the archive of the artist. Whether you're a painter looking to capture light and tone, or a sketcher wanting to dive deep into anatomy, this is your space. We feature a single, professional pose held for the entire afternoon, allowing for a focused, uninterrupted creative flow.
The Schedule:- 11:45 AM: Doors open (Arrive early to get your favorite spot!)
- 12:00 PM: Session begins with the main pose.
- 2:00 PM: Halfway break with complimentary snacks and refreshments.
- 4:00 PM: Session ends.
The Vibe: Relaxed, friendly, and self-directed. We provide the easels and drawing boards and all essential materials (charcoal, pencils, sharpeners etc).
