Chris Coe founder of the Travel Photographer of The Year competition has made LPMG members a discounted offer for his next course.  Chris ran some very popular courses with us last year with many of the LPMG members and the reviews were excellent.  If you're looking to improve your photography skills this is the place to start. Shooting for Impact - colour & movement
Photography is about light and time so on this course we're going to focus on controlling both to capture interesting and creative images, but we're also going to look at how these elements can play an important role in composition and creating images with impact. If you understand light then you take back control of your photography from your camera and can start to be really creative, rather than simply documenting a subject as your camera tells you should. On the course we'll start by working on compositional skills and refining them so that you understand what gives an image impact. Then we'll look at ways of controlling light, before combining light with movement to enhance your compositions to make strong, dynamic images.

Photo Course Highlights

  • Group and individual tuition
  • One & a half day course in central London - Friday, June 22nd (6pm-9.30pm) and Saturday, June 23rd (9.30am-4pm)
  • Practical sessions on composition & framing for impact
  • Practical sessions experimenting with both light & time

What You'll Learn About

  • Refining composition for maximum impact
  • Camera craft & technique for accurate framing
  • Metering light for impact & creative effect
  • Using colour in creative composition
  • Light without colour - visualising B&W
  • Filtration & light control
  • Capturing movement
  • Long & multiple exposures

This course is only for 12 people, and will be tutored by Nick Meers and Chris Coe, so, with such a small group, the participants will get a lot of individual attention.  Email Karon and she'll send a PayPal invoice for the appropriate discounted amount.

The regular cost is £220 per person, but we'd offer it to LPMG members at £195 per person. And for any members who did a course with us last year, we'd bring the cost down to £170. And everybody who takes part also gets a guided tour of the TPOTY exhibition on the Saturday morning before it opens to the public that day, and they also receive a free copy of the new TPOTY book Journey Four (RRP £25).
